Sports and Performance Massage

The goal of sports and performance massage is to enhance your performance. Sports and performance massage will increase efficiency, precision, and freedom of movement. We can all benefit from this type of work, whether you have an injury, sprain, strain, or are simply looking to maintain healthy muscles before, during, and after training for an event.

Sports massage includes the use of Muscle Activation Techniques, Isometric and isotonic stretching, and movements which increase circulation and lymphatic drainage. This prevents stagnation of circulation and reduces the build up of waste products and scar tissue.  This combination improves mobility and flexibility, relieves pain, and decreases the possibility of future injuries. It also allows for a more intense training regimine by helping to prevent muscle soreness and aiding in faster muscle recovery.

Pre-Event- Sports Massage increases circulation, range of motion, and muscle elasticity, and reflex response.

Post-event massage helps increase circulation and gently rid the body of excess waste products such lactic acid. It reduces ischemic pain and scar tissue build up.

*Sports Massage sessions are 30 minutes are only available in packages of four or more. Sessions must be used two or more times per week. These are ideal and most convenient if you are training for an event or as maintenance alongside your workout routine.

Your Massage Therapist will use muscle testing, postural assessment, and movement screenings to determine the imbalance. Afterwards, he will apply this deep tissue technique which will specifically target and treat the right muscles for optimal results.

Our Therapist JJ Tyler is a certified in A.R.T. and employs this technique within many of his sessions. Quick and effective, it allows him to get the most results with your time. Functional Movement Screening

Functional Movement Screening, or FMS is a tool used to identify limitations or asymmetries in seven fundamental movement patterns that are key to functional movement quality. Through these assessments, we are able to determine the best plan for your bodywork and choose corrective exercises to help re-train your posture and bring balance to the body. We work to help clients not only improve posture, but break the muscle patterns which lead to bad posture, pain, and more problems down the road.

Integrative bodywork addresses the body with a holistic approach. Looking at the whole picture helps your therapist determine the best plan. Working alongside other professionals in our office and throughout our community, we can recommend other treatments when needed.
